The first layouts in Figma quickly led to a full homepage design. However, designing without a concept is not my style, so it was time to gives it some story.

Kintsu is a small family-owned  jewelry brand nestled in Shintoku, Hokkaido founded by two master blacksmiths, Kaito and Ren Takahashi. The brand embodies the harmonious blend of Japanese perfectionism, minimalism, and centuries-old blacksmithing craftsmanship.

Using a 12-column vertical grid and a horizontal grid with an 8px gutter helps me and the developers understand how the layout is built. Overall, this method provides a systematic structure that is easy to follow, instead of placing elements randomly.
